THE GOSPEL

Image
What is the meaning or definition of the word GOSPEL? Well in Greek the word Gospel is, EUANGELION. EU=Good, and ANGELION, For Angelos, or Angels= Messenger. ok, then Gospel is Good Message, or Good News. Who does not like to hear or receive Good News? I do. But the Gospel= Good News, is not just a good news, no, it is Great News, it is the Best News, we can receive. It is the news about one person and what that person is, and what he has done, plus what he is doing, and promise to do even in the future. That person is JESUS. When Jesus mother was pregnant and Joseph was planning to run away, the angel appeared to him, Matthew 1 and told him not to be afraid and that the baby that was to be born he must call him JESUS, for he will save his people of their sins. Isn't that great news, announced by the angel even before he was born. And when Jesus, the baby was born in the manger, the angel came again and talked to the shepherds, Luke 2:10-11, saying, "Do not be afraid, for beho...

This world is coming to its end. With everything happening round the world. Most people we talk to, sense, think, and believe that this world is going down hill, most people feel that something big is about to happen, even non religious and non students of the Bible feel that we are on our way to a big crushed. And yes, something spectacular and amazing is soon going to happen. Our time here may not be for too long. This, our lovely planet earth is going for a refurbish, it needs a transformation, and a renovation, but for that time we need to be relocated so we don't get destroyed with it. Our Savior does not want us to be destroyed with this world, that is why He promise to come and take us out to save us from the destruction which is coming. The question is, what are we doing to be ready for when he comes? What are we doing to get us ready for translation? Albert Einstein, once said, "Insanity is, doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results" F...

Here is the greatest news about SALVATION: It is FREE. Romans 6: 23 says that eternal life is a GIFT of God in Christ Jesus. Of course, the fact that it is free to us does not mean that it is free to all, or for all. When someone gives you a free gift, it is free to you but somebody, usually the giver has paid for it. In the case of our salvation, God has paid for it in the person of His beloved Son Jesus Christ. Yes, it is free to us, but it costed God the blood and life of His Son. Romans 5: 15 says, "But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man. Jesus Christ, abounded to many" A Free Gift, Do you see it? And Ephesians 2: 8 says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; It is the gift of God" A Gift of God, to us. When someone gives me a gift, I appreciate it, and take a good care of it. One of my dear sisters gave ...

Last week in the first part of Salvation we mentioned at least four important things: one, that we are all sinners, two, that the consequences of sin is death, and eternal death to be more accurate, three, that we by ourselves can not resolve the sin problem, and four, that God has provided a solution to our problem of sin, in the person of Jesus Christ, who willingly went to die on the cross for all of us. This week we are going to look at a text in Luke 19:10, Jesus said "For the Son of Man has come to seek and save that which was lost" As you noticed there are three key words in this text; one, is SEEK, two, is SAVE, and three, is LOST. Jesus came not just to save us arbitrarily, but to SEEK first. And not to seek because he did not know where and how we were, but to give us the opportunity to admit that we are LOST, and two, to allow him to find us and SAVE us. In chapter 14 of Matthew we find a story of Jesus coming to the disciples walking on water, while they were in...
