S A L V A T I O N Part 2
Last week in the first part of Salvation we mentioned at least four important things: one, that we are all sinners, two, that the consequences of sin is death, and eternal death to be more accurate, three, that we by ourselves can not resolve the sin problem, and four, that God has provided a solution to our problem of sin, in the person of Jesus Christ, who willingly went to die on the cross for all of us.
This week we are going to look at a text in Luke 19:10, Jesus said "For the Son of Man has come to seek and save that which was lost" As you noticed there are three key words in this text; one, is SEEK, two, is SAVE, and three, is LOST.
Jesus came not just to save us arbitrarily, but to SEEK first. And not to seek because he did not know where and how we were, but to give us the opportunity to admit that we are LOST, and two, to allow him to find us and SAVE us.
In chapter 14 of Matthew we find a story of Jesus coming to the disciples walking on water, while they were in the boat. Peter asked him to allow him to come to him walking on the water too, to which Jesus said "Come" verse 28, and Peter started his journey towards Jesus, walking on the water but when he saw that the wing was too strong he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord Save me" verse 30
