Temptations started from the very beginning at the garden of Eden, temptations are not something new to anyone. The sad thing is that our first parents did not resist the first temptation, they were not vigilant enough to identify the tempter nor were they wise to reject the invitation to eat of the forbidden fruit. But the worse thing after they fall is that we were all affected by their fall or disobedience, as sin entered into the world and sin brought pain, tears, suffering, and death. Today we have some great news given to us by the Apostle Paul, in 1- Corinthians 10: 13 which says, "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way to escape, that you may be able to bear it" Wow! this is such a great news, if we can only believe it, and remember it. God will not allow us to be tempted beyond our capacity! And with the tempta...

In our last blog we saw that it is the devil who tempts us and he is so bad that no one escapes his temptations, we also read that he does it because he wants to destroy people, but we read that we must do three things not to fall into temptation; we must be sober, vigilant, and resist the devil. Today we are going to read Hebrews 2:18 "For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted. He is able to aid those who are tempted" Yes, He (Jesus) is able, and I should add, that He is not just able, He is ready and willing to aid (Help) those of us when we are tempted. What do we do when we need help? We ask, right? Then every time we find out that we are tempted we must call upon Jesus for help, and be confident that He will help. 2-Peter 2:9 says that the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations. Jesus knows how to deliver us because He Himself was tempted just as we are and overcame the temptations. I must encourage everyone reading this to call upon Jesus for...

As we continue with the topic of Temptation let us read in the book of James 1: 13, "Let not one say when he is tempted. "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone" Some people think that it is God who tempts them, but we saw in the text that God does not tempt anyone nor can He be tempted. The question then is; whos is tempting all of us and why? Let us read what Matthew 4:1 It says, "Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil" Wow! This text tells us that it's the devil who tempts, and what is amazing to me is that no one seems to escape his temptations, the devil even tempted Jesus when He was in His human form. Now, as an answer to the question of why the devil is so busy tempting people let us read 1-Peter 5:8 "Be sober, an vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" Yes, as we studied in ...

What is Temptation? =Temptation is a desire to do something especially something wrong or unwise, it is also the desire to take something that is not ours and without the permission of the owner. Everyone of us is or have been tempted from time to time, some of us are tempted daily. Being Tempted is not bad nor it is a sin, as long as that Temptation does not become an obsession in our minds. There is a say: "You can not stop birds from flying above your head but you can prevent them from nesting on your head" Same thing goes about Temptations, we can not stop temptations to come to us but we can prevent them from nesting or dwelling in our hearts. Look at what the Bible says, in James 1:14 "But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed" Now look at what verse 15 says, "Then when the desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin when is full-grown, brings death" Wow! this is a serious matter. Yes, when we allow the...
