T R U S T part 2

 Jeremiah 17: 5-8 says, "Thus says the Lord.

"Cursed is the man who Trusts in man.

And makes flesh his strength,

Whose heart departs from the Lord.

For he shall be like a shrub in the desert.

And shall not see when good comes.

But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness.

In a salt land which is not inhabited.

"Blessed is the man who Trusts in the Lord.

And whose hope is the lord.

For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters.

Which spreads out its roots by the river.

And will not fear when heat comes.

But its leaf will be green.

and will not be anxious in the year of drought.

Nor will cease from yielding fruit"

Wow! You might wonder why we are cursed if or when we Trusts man. Well the thing is that a man is human and he is a sinner, bound to fail, as we mentioned last week. So if we put our trust in man and that man fails us we will be heartbroken. God does not want us to be heartbroken, that is why He does not want us to trust man. He wants us to Trust him, because He, God, is perfect, just, love, and compassion, He will never fail, he will never disappoint us.

The prophet Jeremiah also tells us what the blessing is when we trust in the Lord. He says that we will be like green trees planted by the waters not worrying about the hot summers in life nor the strong wings of our tribulations.

We should not even trust ourselves as we can fail our own selves.

Remember, trust in the Lord with all our hearts. May the Lord bless you and keep you strong, safe, in peace, in faith, and content.
