This month we will be talking about Heaven.
The question may be, what is Heaven? According to the general definition heaven is a place of peace, a place where God has his throne, where God's kingdom is, a place of happiness and eternity.
The Greek word for Heaven is OURANOS, which means a paradise but also means the sky or skies.
We see in the Bible that there seems to be three different regions which are identified as Heaven. In Matthew 6:26 Jesus said, "Look at the birds of the air..." we find that the word for air here is OURANOS or in some others versions Heaven. This is the first regions known as heaven, the atmosphere, as part of the natural world, where the birds have access.
King David said in Psalm 19:1 "The Heavens declare the Glory of God..." and here David not only mentioned Heavens in plural but he is also referring to the Sun, Moon, Planets, and Stars. This is the second region known as Heaven, this area even though is partially reachable by humans it is not reachable by the birds.
The third region of Heaven is not accessible by birds, nor humans in the carnal form. Paul the apostle, says in 2-Corinthians 12: 1-10 that in vision or dream he was transported to the Third Heaven, where he saw and heard things which are not of this earth. Also Isaiah 66:1 says that God's throne is in Heaven, and king Solomon in 1-Kings 8:27-53 talks about God's dwelling place in Heaven.
Jesus in the well known Lord's prayer teaches us to pray saying, "Our Father who is in Heaven... thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven..."
