TIME OF GIVING AND RECEIVING
It is always wonderful to give something to someone special, it is also great to receive something. There is however a risk to love the gift more than the giver. Brigham young, once said: "Love the giver more than the gift"
We must remember that most gifts are perishable and temporary, but the giver for the most part outlive the gifts. Let us look at what James the apostle says in James 1: 17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning"
So if every good gift comes from God even when god has inspired a human being to give us a gift we must then be gracious and thankful to the giver and at the very least show respect, honor, appreciation, and why not love the giver.
Let us remember that the greatest gift ever given to humanity is JESUS, the only begotten Son of God. Let us therefore be thankful to God for the wonderful gift of His Son who came to redeem us from this sinful world. Let us love him, respect Him, honor him, praise Him, adore Him, worship him, and give Him the best place in our hearts. Let us make Him our best friend.
May the peace of the Prince of peace cover everyone in this Christmas.
