16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

The Lion Of The Tribe Of Judah

  Revelation 5: 5 says, "And one of the elders saith unto me, "Weep not: Behold the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof"" It is easy and common to think of Jesus as a lamb; by its tenderness, gentleness, and even submissiveness, but it is not common to think of Him as a lion. It is the Bible however that says it. There must be a reason for it. Let us read what Jacob was telling his twelve sons about their future, in Genesis 49: 8-9 "Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee. THE GOSPEL part 5

This week we are concluding our blogs about the Gospel, and we will like to take a look at the power of the Gospel in a person. Let's take the apostle Paul for example, in the book of Acts 9: 1-19 we find the story of Paul's encounter with Jesus (the true Gospel) Paul was on his way to Damascus to persecute Christians, as his custom was, except that this time the Gospel, Jesus, appeared to him on a light shining to his face and asking, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? We read that the power of the light and words of Jesus made Paul fall off his horse and loose his sight. As a result of Paul's encounter with the Person of Jesus he converted from persecutor of Christians to one of them, he became a believer, a preacher, teacher and writer of the Gospel. The power of the Gospel changed him. In Romans 1: 16 he wrote, "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jews first and also for...

WAIT UPON THE LORD

  This week's text is from Isaiah 40: 28-31 "Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainted not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that WAIT UPON THE LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint". This week's animal figure is the EAGLE. Some facts about the eagles compare to humans: = Eagles have a 20/5 vision, humans 20/20 = Eagles can see 340 degrees field vision, humans 180 degrees. = Eagles have 2 foveae per eye with 2 million cones per millimeter, humans have one fovea per eye with 200.000 cones per millimeter. = Eagles longevity is of 35-40 years, humans 70-100. = Eagles can fly at 100 MPH a...
